After learning my craft hand-coding websites in HTML (c1999), I switched to using WordPress as my primary website building tool when I launched my own business (c2013).
It was a crucial decision to make at the time - but I haven't looked back.
I find that WordPress is versatile enough to build all kinds of sites, from simple to complex requirements.
It is also approachable enough to enable clients to manage and update their own content too, should they wish to do so.

Unlike some competing platforms (e.g. Shopify) WordPress is "Open Source" software. This means it costs nothing upfront and the base platform has no subscription fee either*

Did You Know..? WordPress was originally launched in 2003 and helped to popularise and accelerate the growth of “blogging” across the world. Indeed, Merriam-Webster made “Blog” word of the year in 2004.
